[edit] Car Breakins

The Mawson Lakes Police Officer, Paul Kameniar sent me the following message at work..

Hello everyone,

Over the last two or three days, workplace representatives have passed on information regarding three separate instances of cars getting broken into or stolen. These instances of crime follow a considerable period of time whereby no crime was reported thereby indicating another group of thieves may be operating in the area.

The instances are as follows;

On Friday, 23rd, a car was broken into at Optus between 3.30pm and 11.30pm. On Saturday, 24th, a car was stolen from Optus. Four of the six persons accused of this incident were arrested by Police from Parks Police Station. The four persons arrested were all teenage females and of aboriginal appearance. Two of whom reside near Technology Park. The two remaining persons wanted by police are believed to be male. On Wednesday, 28th, a car was broken into in the carpark of Endeavour House between 8.30am and 5.00pm.

History has shown cluster events such as these are usually committed by the same person/s. For the next couple of weeks, please keep a close eye on your car parks and report suspicious behaviour or suspicious persons immediately to police. Let's try to get on top of this at an early stage. Please forward this information onto fellow staff members.

PB; I have some busy days coming up with meetings and writing deadlines etc. I may be unavailable to receive your calls. Please take it upon yourselves to pass information onto other businesses in the area and call 11444 if police attendance is required. You may stop somebody's car from being broken into. I will try to keep you informed of crime statistics and/or arrests etc.

Thanks, Paul Kameniar
