[edit] Fast Electric Cars

The Advertiser (Wednesday, April 28) has an article about an electric car that Clipsal (Clipsal Electrical Accessories) has purchased from Hong Kong, build by the Asian battery maker Gold Peak, with whom they have an association with through Mistral. The car is a modified Daewoo sedan, and can travel up to 200km, and with a maximum speed in excess of 100 km/h. Recharging the nickle metal hydride batteries requires 20A power socket.

No mention of the cost or the car, but I'll put an outlet in the garage for it, just in case I win the lottery. With solar electricity, I shouldn't have to pay for petrol ever again. (If I don't win the car.. well, I'll just have to use the outlet to power my bench grinder.)
