Welcome the the Mawson Lakes Linux User Group (ML-LUG) pages.
[edit] First Meeting
The group met for the first time on Thurday Evening, 28 Jan 2007 at the Mawson Centre. 8 people attended and a presentation was given by Paul Schulz on what was this thing that is called Linux.
- Some notes on Linux can be found here - Free_and_Open_Source_Software
The meeting also included an introduction to the OLPC (One Laptop Per Child) project, including a demonstration of a pre-production model. One of 5 in Adelaide.
Future meetings are planned, this time with tea/coffee and maybe earlier in the month (first Thursday of the month?) to fit around some of the other Linux related meetings that happen in Aelaide (namely LinuxSA and Air-Stream).
All-in-all, it was a good night and I'm looking forward to hosting more.
